Dan Martin’s passion for volleyball has grown over the years starting when he was ten and his parents dragging him along to all of their tournaments. Dan played professional sand volleyball and competed in several USA Volleyball Open Championships. He also played on the top indoor men’s team in the region for several years. Dan began coaching 10 years ago as a club volleyball coach, he is certified CAP and Impact Certified. His club coaching experience for the last ten years has included every age level from 11-18. In the past ten seasons, his teams have qualified for a bid to Nationals. As a head coach, all of Dan’s teams have qualified for Nationals since 2008. This last year he coached the two #1 ranked teams in the Great Plains Region for the 11’s and 14’s age division. His 14’s team won the top regional bid beating out 112 other teams in their age division and finished 11th at Nationals in Dallas, Texas this year. Dan’s desire to coach and see others learn to love the game and grow as players has increased. Dan has always wanted to start his own volleyball club and his love and desire to create a coaching style and continuity throughout a club so that every team and player in the club has strong, effective coaching at all levels and to see others learn to love the game and grow as players.
Rian & Millie
Rian has been playing volleyball competitively since she started playing club at age 12. She attended Gretna High School where her junior year she was offered a volleyball scholarship to Morningside college. Rian went to Morningside for one year and then transferred to Peru State where she also received a scholarship and played her remaining three years there. Rian received all-conference recognition in 2014 and 2015. For her three years at Peru she represented the volleyball team on the Student Athletic Advisory Council. Rian started coaching in 2013 and has been with Legacy since 2015. Coaching is her true passion and she someday hopes to coach a college team! Rian just recently graduated from Peru State College with a degree in history and political science.
Rian's responsibilities with the club will be both in the office and out on the court. She will be helping handle administrative duties including; communication with both coaches and club members, social media, clinics, camps, and private lessons. Rian will also be working with the coaches and teams during the club season to provide additional coaching support and training.
